Gym chain Jetts eyes malls in Thai expansion
Australian gym chain, Jetts, has opened four more clubs in Thailand, its first foray into Asia.
Jetts, owned by Fitness and Lifestyle Group, pioneered the 24/7, no lock-in contract gym model in Australia a decade ago and has since expanded into New Zealand, the Netherlands and the UK, operating 450 clubs. In Thailand it is targeting malls as it builds its network.
FLG CEO Greg Oliver, said the company plans a further eight clubs in Thailand this year, making a total of 15 clubs by Christmas, with another 35 planned for Thailand’s provinces after that.
“As with the global health and fitness sector, Thailand is experiencing a surge and Jetts will tick all the boxes for health conscious consumers that demand a gym that is simple, affordable and fits into their busy lifestyles,” Oliver said.
The latest four clubs are located in city-centre locations, close to mass transit lines in Bangkok: Stadium One, a Lifestyles Sport Community located near BTS National Stadium station, Street, a Shopping mall located in Ratchada, The Phyll, a coworking space at On Nut and Silom Connect, a shopping centre located at Chong Nonsi.
The first three clubs are at community malls Suanplern Market in Rama 4, Nawamin City Avenue, in Kaset Nawamin and The Scene, at Town in Town.
The grand opening of the four new clubs in Thailand was attended by athletic superstars, sport stars and celebrities including Mint Chalida Vijitvongthong, Jam Neko Jump Charattha Imraporn, Joy Chonticha Nuamsukon and Attila Arthur from The Face All Star.
