Mall Group and partners present Mooncake Festival
Five brands feature in the Mooncake Festival being presented by the Mall Group in Bangkok.
In the Mall Group’s Food Hall, the festival presents mooncakes from more than 20 shops and hotels. The five major contributors are Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, Dusit Thani Bangkok, Peninsula Bangkok, Shanghai Mansion Bangkok and W Bangkok.
Dusit Thani Bangkok offers a honey date-palm mooncake with fillings of durian, custard, lotus seed, mixed nuts and bird’s nest with lotus seeds. The mooncakes come in boxes shaped like the hotel.
The black-truffle mooncake from Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park also includes roast chestnut, roast duck, egg yolk and lotus seed.
Peninsula Bangkok’s egg-custard mooncake is based on the original recipe by chefs at Mei Jiang Chinese restaurant. The outer shell texture is light and delicate with the yolks from organic eggs.
The golden snowskin durian mooncake from Shanghai Mansion Bangkok is decorated with golden flakes and filled with soft, pesticide-free Monthong durian with no added sugar or preservatives.
W Bangkok presents the soft, creamy Japanese cheesecake mooncake in a range of flavours including peanut butter, banana chocolate, raspberry and the original durian.
Also in the festival are bite-size chocolate mooncakes from The Sukosol Bangkok, MX lava custard mooncakes by Maxim and Harrod with fillings of rosebuds, royal milk, white-truffle custard and blackcurrant hibiscus, Simply W’s prosperity mooncake with pomegranate and rose in a honey-filled mochi dough, decorated with white and pink petals, and from Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok a mixed-nut mooncake with ingredients including Yunnan ham, kaffir strips, five grains, white sesame, candied squash, walnut, almond and cashew.
