Common Room x Ari puts focus on coffee
An all-day breakfast eatery, Common Room x Ari, in the residential neighbourhood of Ari in Bangkok, describes itself as also being a workshop space and event venue.
But the focus is firmly on quality coffee, with beans from local roasters such as Brave and Ceresia. It offers blends as well as single origins from Colombia and Kenya, available as latte or flat white, French press or hot and cold drip.
Seating about a dozen guests, mainly on high stalls around a bar, the kitchen bar offers house croissants, brownies, waffles, pork pies and other baked goods, as well as onsen eggs and berry yoghurt.
There is also a set menu of Thai dishes such as moo gratiem (fried pork with garlic) and gang kiew waan (green curry).
Desserts include mango and lychee sorbet, waffles and affogato, which features specially made ice cream.
There is also a delivery service for baked goods, coffee and ice cream.
Light and bright, and fronted by a square of artificial lawn spread across the footpath, Common Room has a minimalist approach with design by Thai firm Party/Space/Design.
