Bangkok food truck plan to ease cost burden
Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce is recruiting food truck operators as it aims to make eating healthy food more affordable.
The Noo Nid food taste project includes an invitation to food vendors to join the ministry’s food truck project to make Bangkok home to not only the best street food in the world but at the lowest prices.
Thai PBS news service reports the Bangkok food truck project is part of the Ministry’s Noo Nid food taste campaign aimed at easing the cost of living in the capital city.
The ministry is now cooperating with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to select suitable areas in tourist destinations to place the Noo Nid food trucks. It hopes to sign up at least 35 operators.
Deputy minister of commerce Sontirat Sontijirawong said the project has already drawn interest from Bangkok food truck vendors.
