Acquisition seen as key to Com7’s growth

Acquisition is seen as key to IT retail chain Com7’s growth plan.

Already the company, which runs shops under the Banana IT and Studio 7 brands, is in talks to acquire another business.

This follows it taking over 44 BKK outlets from Bangkok Telecom 999 in December.

Com7 expects to maintain double-digit sales revenue growth to THB17.2 billion next year, up from THB14.9 billion last year, by gearing up for the next growth level by acquiring companies that complement its core business, says chief executive Sura Khanittaweekul.

He says Com7 expects to settle an acquisition deal with a prospective company by next month, reports the Bangkok Post.

Broadening IT product lines and moving into untapped product segments are also key strategies for Com7, which plans to spend THB200 million on increasing the number of its Banana IT shops by 50 this year, taking the total to 500.

Sura says the company will also spend another THB40 million opening at least five camera shops by year-end.
