Eggshell inspiration for Crack dessert restaurant
A chicken trying to break out of its shell has inspired the design for Bangkok’s new Crack dessert restaurant.
Located in Sukhumvit Soi 49, the Japanese restaurant takes it name from the sound of a knife cutting through its crunchy signature waffle.
Bangkok designer Party Space has made the restaurant’s facade “as smooth as eggshell “with a window shaped like a crack line revealing the restaurant’s interior. Above the “crack” on the street-facing side of the restaurant is a spotlit chicken graphic.
Warm tones mark the interior design, with random use of materials as well as furniture and lighting arrangements with the aim of adding excitement to the space, says Retail Design Blog.
An important feature is the restaurant’s round lamps, echoing the shape of an egg with with warm lighting. There is also a crack echoing that on the exterior, allowing customers to peek into the kitchen.
A barista counter is a simple wood top beneath a stainless steel canopy, while the menu board is a magnetic plate echoing a fridge magnet.
Another highlight of the interior design of Crack dessert restaurant are the “cracks” that continue a seamless line from the window shape.
